Montenegro’s U18 National Team Claims Silver Medal at MEVZA Tournament in Zadar

The Montenegrin U18 men’s volleyball team secured second place at the MEVZA tournament held in Zadar. Under the guidance of coach Dejan Radić, the team showcased impressive performances but ultimately fell short in the final match against Brno from the Czech Republic, losing with a score of 3:1 (22:25, 25:13, 25:19, 25:10).

The silver medals and the trophy were awarded to our athletes by Nikola Kažić, the president of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro.

The opening set of the final was tightly contested, demonstrating our team’s strength as the score remained level until the last moments at 20:20. Our players secured crucial points to clinch the set at 25:23. However, the Czech side gained momentum in the subsequent three sets, establishing substantial leads that they maintained until the end, ultimately winning the match with a final tally of 3:1 and finishing the tournament undefeated.

Vuk Stanojević led our scoring efforts with 14 points, closely followed by Luka Lojić with 13 points.

Our team advanced to the final after a commanding victory over Ramat Aviv from Israel, winning 3:0 (25:19, 25:23, 25:23). During the group stage, they achieved two convincing wins: first against Ribola Kaštela with a 3:0 score (25:20, 25:18, 25:20), followed by another victory over Trenčín from Slovakia, also 3:0 (25:21, 27:25, 25:20). Their only loss in the group stage came against Kecskemet from Hungary, where they narrowly fell 3:2 (19:25, 25:17, 18:25, 25:17, 17:15) in the match determining the group winner.
