The initial two matches of the season’s second half revealed that Budućnost remains in their autumn form – the leader of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League secured another win against Arsenal today, following their triumph over Sutjeska.
On the “plowed field” in Tivat, Ivan Brnović’s squad triumphed with a score of 5:1, giving the “blue and white” a 12-point advantage at the top over second-placed Petrovac.
“We earned three crucial points in a challenging away game on a tough pitch against a defensive side. From the start, we controlled the match, which reflected in our attacking play and goal,” Brnović shared on the club’s website.
The head coach of the Podgorica team expressed particular satisfaction with the team’s depth.
“We were a bit careless when we conceded a goal, but in all other respects, the entire team deserves praise. The contributions from the players who came off the bench are a testament to our strong squad,” Brnović noted.
This Sunday, Budućnost will face off against Bokelj pod Goricam, a team whose match with Dečić was postponed today due to heavy rainfall.
“We’re shifting our focus to Bokelj right away as there’s no time for celebration – we have a fresh and serious challenger ahead,” Brnović concluded.
