Istanbul Derby: Fenerbahçe Triumphs, Virtus Struggles in Athens
Fenerbahçe’s basketball team triumphed over Efes in the Istanbul derby with a score of 84:76 (24:24, 19:16, 21:16, 20:20) during the Euroleague’s 19th round match held at home tonight.
Key players for Fenerbahçe included Tarik Biberović with 17 points, Serbian international Marko Gudurić who contributed 15 points, along with Nigel Hayes-Davis and Devon Hall who scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
For Efes, Elijah Bryant led with 16 points, closely followed by Shane Larkin with 15 points.
Currently, Fenerbahče holds the sixth position with 11 wins against 7 losses, while Efes is in eighth place with 10 wins and 9 losses.
In the upcoming round, Fenerbahçe will be facing Alba at home, whereas Efes will take on Asvel in their next game.
Meanwhile, the Montenegrin coach of Virtus struggled in Athens as Panathinaikos claimed a decisive victory of 111:90.
Just like in the match against Bayern, Kendrick Nunn scored 27 points, as did Turkish international Omer Faruk Jurtseven.
For coach Duško Ivanović’s team, Will Claiburn was the standout performer with 25 points.
Panathinaikos celebrated their 12th victory, while the Bologna team faced their 14th defeat.
