33 countries at the annual conference of the World Paragliding Commission

33 Nations Unite at the Annual World Paragliding Commission Conference

In celebration of the 50th annual conference of the World Paragliding Commission, Budva’s Mayor, Nikola Jovanović, welcomed representatives from global aviation sports, who are convening their annual meeting in Budva.

As reported by the local authorities, this event gathers delegates from 33 countries across all continents to discuss significant topics regarding the advancement and future of aviation.

“This assembly provides an incredible opportunity for experience sharing, enhancing collaboration, and showcasing Budva’s potential in sports and recreational flying. Attendees included Marcus Haggeney, Secretary General of the World Aeronautical Federation (FAI); Igor Eržen, member of the Board of Directors of FAI; Bill Hughes, President of the World Paragliding Commission; Željko Ovuka, Vice President of the World Paragliding Commission; and Nebojša Jušković, representing the Aeronautical Federation of Montenegro. During the event, Marcus Haggeney and Bill Hughes awarded diplomas from the World Aeronautical Federation to Nikola Jovanović, the President of Budva Municipality, and Nebojša Jušković, in recognition of their contributions to the development of aviation sports,” stated the Municipality of Budva.

The Mayor expressed his pride in hosting such a prestigious event, highlighting that Budva is not only a renowned tourist destination but is also becoming an increasingly significant location for international conferences and professional gatherings.

“During their visit, discussions were held regarding the further advancement of aviation sports and the promotion of Montenegro as an attractive venue for international aeronautical events. The Municipality of Budva is pleased with the visit from the World Aeronautical Federation delegation and looks forward to future events that will enhance the synergy between sports, tourism, and international collaboration,” added the Municipality of Budva.
