Milatović Names New Ambassadors to NATO, UN, and Austria
The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has officially appointed several ambassadors: Milena Kalezić as the Ambassador to NATO, Dragana Radulović as the Ambassador to the United Nations, and Stanica Anđić as the Ambassador to the Republic of Austria.
During discussions with the newly appointed ambassadors, Milatović conveyed his confidence that their work will enhance Montenegro’s standing in international affairs.
As per a statement from the Office of the President of Montenegro, he expressed his approval of the new appointments, particularly highlighting the importance of having ambassadors to NATO and the UN, especially given Montenegro’s absence of representation in these crucial organizations during recent geopolitical events.
He emphasized the significance of the ambassadorial appointment to Austria, who will also cover the Czech Republic and Slovakia in a non-resident capacity, anticipating that this will greatly bolster bilateral ties with those nations.
Milatović reiterated Montenegro’s essential foreign policy objectives and expressed hope that the new ambassadors would actively engage in fostering cooperation and furthering the nation’s interests.
“The ambassadors expressed their gratitude to President Milatović for the trust he has placed in them, stating that it is a privilege to represent Montenegro at such significant international stages. They pledged to work diligently towards enhancing collaboration and promoting Montenegro’s foreign policy aims. These appointments are part of a broader effort to strengthen the diplomatic network, in which the President will continue to play a vital role,” the announcement concluded.
