“We Concede Goals Like Pioneers or Roosters” can be rewritten as:
“We Let in Goals Like Trailblazers or Roosters”
The spring season has not begun well for Sutjeska, as after their defeat against Buducnost in Pod Gorica, the Nikšić club also had to concede to Petrovac, losing 3-0 near Bistrica.
What concerns both the coaching staff and fans more than the lost points—and the unsettling fact that one of our two major clubs is merely two points away from the relegation zone—is how the Nikšić team allowed goals to be scored against them by Petrovac.
“Unfortunately, we are conceding goals as if we were a team of young players or amateurs; it’s truly baffling, and I can’t explain such occurrences, but they do happen,” stated Milija Savović, Sutjeska’s coach, in an interview with RTV Nikšić.
The first goal resulted from indecision by goalkeeper Vladan Giljen along with his teammates. The second goal was scored when Dragan Miranović carelessly attempted to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper, and the third came after a confused reaction and poor clearance from the defender.
Defensive errors have cost Sutjeska dearly, but their offense has not performed much better either.
“We are not managing the situations we create in the opponent’s penalty area effectively, and regrettably, the final score reflects that,” added Savović.
The coach, who guided Sutjeska to a championship in 2022, now finds himself in a challenging situation.
“Regarding the gameplay itself, it may not align with the outcome we ended up with, but matches are played for goals and points. Therefore, we must acknowledge that the better team triumphed this time,” concluded Savović.
