The efforts of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Women of Bara exemplify genuine compassion and altruistic care for others, remarked Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatović, who bestowed upon them the Medal of Philanthropy.

According to a statement from the President’s Office, in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, Milatović visited the NGO Women of Bar. He engaged in discussions with the president, Ljiljana Vujović, and the management about the significance and activities of their ongoing humanitarian projects.

“Milatović previously awarded the Women of Bara association with the Medal of Philanthropy, recognizing personal acts of assistance to individuals who are sick, injured, displaced, or in need of aid, reflecting efforts that go above and beyond the call of duty,” the announcement conveyed.

He expressed profound respect and gratitude to the members of the association for their unwavering commitment and humanity displayed daily.

“He also noted that their work not only supports those in dire need but serves as a testament to true compassion and selfless caring for others,” stated the announcement.

The services provided by this organization, as emphasized by Milatović, illustrate what it truly means to embody humanity.

He highlighted that every action and moment of kindness toward those in need helps build a society where everyone feels safe and accepted.

Milatović asserted that it is the state’s duty, specifically that of the relevant ministry, to recognize and provide institutional backing for this association and similar endeavors, as only through collaborative efforts can a more equitable and thriving society be established.

“In expressing their gratitude for the honor, the members of the association articulated that their mission revolves around fostering a circle of empathy around Bar,” the statement mentioned.

They remarked that the medal symbolizes a gift to Montenegrin women who exemplify the spirit of sharing, ensuring that those who seek support feel accompanied.

“In closing, Milatović urged that the initiatives of this association should inspire all of us to cultivate a ring of empathy throughout Montenegro, which is essential for the overall social advancement of our country,” the announcement concluded.
