Prime Minister Spajić Addresses MP Vuković’s Detention: State Authorities Acted Swiftly
In response to the detention of Member of Parliament Ivan Vuković in Belgrade, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić took to the social media platform “X” to announce that Montenegrin authorities quickly reached out to their Serbian counterparts, and that MP Vuković is en route back to Montenegro.
Prime Minister Spajić affirmed that the State of Montenegro will always support its citizens in every circumstance, highlighting the swift communication between the relevant Montenegrin and Serbian officials and confirming that MP Vuković is already heading back.
Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed his disapproval of Montenegrin officials meddling in the internal affairs of other nations, as he anticipates a reciprocal stance towards Montenegro.
Moreover, we do not condone the participation of our officials in the domestic politics of other countries—first MP Knežević, and now Vuković—since we expect the same treatment toward Montenegro, the Prime Minister concluded in his statement.
