“Addressing the Challenges with the Rapida Pivot”
There is no need for dissatisfaction – this is the sentiment expressed by the Budućnost handball players following their Champions League debut.
The “Blues” faced a loss against Rapid in Bucharest, with a final score of 32:27, despite performing strongly in the first 30 minutes.
“We have to find some satisfaction in our performance even in defeat. This season is quite challenging for us due to the presence of many young players, but today they showed resilience throughout the match. The first half was at an acceptable level; however, we encountered several situations involving the pivot player Kasoma in the second half that we failed to manage effectively. That was ultimately a deciding factor in the match. The girls fought hard, and their efforts should be acknowledged,” stated Maja Savić, assistant to Bojana Popović.
Jelena Radivojević netted six goals in the match.
“We anticipated a tough game in Bucharest. Rapid has passionate supporters, and I always enjoy competing on this court. I believe every team finds it a challenge to play here, which offers a significant advantage to the hosts but also places pressure on the visitors. This match was tough, and every game will be challenging in our very strong group. However, we are taking it step by step, aiming to maximize our potential with this team,” remarked Radivojević.
