The SC Derby basketball team seems to have lost their winning touch in the AdmiralBet ABA League.

They began a losing streak on November 11, which will stretch at least until January 11 with a match against Spartak, following a narrow defeat to Borac in Čačak, where the home team triumphed 78:76 after extra time.

This marks the seventh loss for the “students” in a row and the 11th overall this season, alongside four victories (all of which were secured at their home court, “Morača”).

The opening quarter suggested a potential turnaround, as Derby built a double-digit lead early, reaching a 17-point advantage (23:6) by the end of the first ten minutes with a comfortable 15-point lead.

However, from the middle of the second quarter, the game fell under the control of Čačani, despite Derby maintaining their lead until the 28th minute.

By the end of the third quarter, Borac had taken the lead (57:54) and extended it to 63:56. However, an 11-0 run from the visitors allowed them to regain momentum—Erik Nil missed a crucial three-pointer at 67:63, allowing Borac to turn the tide once more.

With just over a minute remaining, Paulius Valinskas netted a three-pointer to make it 68:67, followed by Pavle Nikolić converting one of two free throws for a 69:67 lead. Zoran Nikolić then secured overtime with an offensive rebound with 36 seconds to go.

Derby had one last chance in regulation, but Nil’s attempt to take the game into his own hands after a timeout failed, and during the ensuing five-minute overtime, the Montenegrin side had two opportunities to clinch the win—first, Luka Bogavac missed a three, and then Igor Drobnjak couldn’t convert either.

Consequently, Borac now holds a better record than SC Derby…
