The United Nations (UN) Security Council is set to convene on Thursday, March 6, to discuss the ongoing situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). This extraordinary session was called for by Russia and will be held behind closed doors, according to an announcement by Radio-Television RS (RTRS).

Elmedin Konaković, the Foreign Minister of BiH, expressed in Sarajevo today that he views the Russian request for this session positively.

“We will ensure all members of the Security Council are informed about the current state of affairs in BiH, particularly the ongoing attack on the state, its Constitution, and its institutions,” Konaković stated.

He added that during the Security Council session, “the international community will learn everything that we in BiH are already aware of, including what the embassies in BiH know.”

Konaković emphasized, “There is no doubt that Russia will not be able to persuade the Security Council that (Republika Srpska President) Milorad Dodik is acting in a positive manner here.”

He asserted that Dodik, along with the President of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandić and RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković, has “committed a serious violation of BiH’s constitutional order.”

Konaković is also confident that the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies with International Security Agencies will take further legal action against these individuals.
