Jokić Hosts Reception and Presents Trophy to Kotor Water Polo Team

To celebrate the achievements of winning the silver medal at the European Championship in Bulgaria and the bronze medal at the World Championship in Argentina, the President of the Municipality of Kotor, Vladimir Jokić, hosted an official reception today for Montenegro’s junior water polo representatives and their coaching staff from the city.
While congratulating them once more on their remarkable achievements, the mayor expressed his appreciation for the medalists’ honorable representation of both the city and the country at such prestigious events. He commended their performance and dedication in the water, stating that the medals they earned further validate the excellence of water polo in our region. He reaffirmed that the Municipality of Kotor is committed to supporting Montenegro’s most successful sport, noting that Kotor consistently produces the highest number of national team athletes.
The European vice-champions hailing from Kotor are: Andrija Bjelica, Andrija Roganović, Draško Samardžić, Tim Perov, Srđan Janović, Miloš Milinić, Balša Vučković, and Đorđe Pejović.
Aside from Bjelica and Vučković, these players also participated in the Under-18 World Championship in Argentina this summer, where they secured a bronze medal. Joining them in South America were Ivan Marković, Miloš Vukašinović, and Marko Pejović, who were also present at today’s reception.
Mlađan Janović, Vasko Vučković, Uroš Čučković, and Veselin Mišković were part of the coaching staff that guided the young water polo players to their successes in Argentina and Bulgaria.
Apart from the individual awards of 500 euros, Jokić also handed out special gifts to the medalists.
The reception was attended by the President of the Kotor Municipal Assembly, Maja Mršulja, Chief Administrator Marina Bjelja, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Social Activities Tatjana Kriještorac, Director of the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Kotor, Jovan Ristic, and Sports Advisor Dejan Ognjanović.
