Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović Holds Meeting with Hungary’s Minister Bóka

During his trip to Budapest, Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met with Hungary’s Minister for European Union Affairs, János Bóka.

In their discussion, Minister Bóka reiterated Hungary’s unwavering support for Montenegro’s European integration, especially during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the latter half of 2024. He stressed that Hungary will remain a strong ally for Montenegro as it pursues EU membership, encouraging the closure of negotiation chapters and expediting the integration process.

Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed gratitude for Hungary’s ongoing support and reaffirmed Montenegro’s dedication to meeting its obligations on the European path. He noted that EU membership is a strategic goal for Montenegro, and Hungary’s continued assistance is vital for achieving this objective.

The two officials also addressed current global challenges, such as security and migration issues, as well as possibilities for enhancing regional cooperation.

They agreed to maintain close communication to expedite Montenegro’s EU accession process.
