Phoenix, Golden State, and now one of the two premier NBA teams – U.S. media is once again linking Nikola Vucevic to a possible trade in the world’s top basketball league.
According to Evan Sideri from Forbes (previously with ESPN), the Los Angeles Lakers have shown interest in acquiring our center.
“The Lakers recently reached out to Chicago regarding Vucevic. The California club is looking to bolster their center position, also considering Robert Williams and Jonas Valančiunas,” Sideri posted on the X social platform.
According to American media, it would be quite exciting to see a Montenegrin on the Lakers.
“Playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis would provide Vucevic with numerous opportunities,” noted “Sports Illustrated.”
Currently, the Lakers hold a record of 20-16 after 36 games this season, while Chicago remains a mediocre team with 17 wins and 19 losses.
“That’s why a trade for Vucevic to the Lakers could make sense if the right offer comes through,” the media outlet added.
The Montenegrin star is now in his 14th NBA season, having one of the best years of his career. He is currently averaging 20.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, with a shooting percentage of 55.2% from the field and 42.2% from beyond the arc.
The player from Bar has consistently been a double-double machine, even surpassing the legendary Michael Jordan on the all-time list for the Chicago Bulls.
Vucevic has accumulated 181 double-doubles in a Bulls jersey, overtaking Jordan, who stands at 180.
