DPM Koprivica Holds Meeting with North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arben Fetai

The Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice, and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica engaged in discussions in Skopje with the Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia Arben Fetai, where both parties reaffirmed that enhancing the battle against corruption and other forms of abuse remains a crucial priority for their nations.

Both officials stressed the importance of bolstering collaboration to prevent cross-border corruption and to execute the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations. In this context, it is imperative to undertake joint initiatives to guarantee the comprehensive and effective enforcement of this agreement, which will significantly aid in the identification of corruption and concealed assets on a regional scale. Both sides concurred that assets acquired through corruption should not be immune from scrutiny.

Deputy Prime Minister Fetai expressed his contentment with the opportunity to share insights with his Montenegrin counterpart, noting that Montenegro is a commendable example in its EU accession processes.

During his time in Skopje, Deputy Prime Minister Koprivica also held discussions with the President of the Judicial Council Aleksandar Kambovski, along with the Secretary General and members of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption. These meetings highlighted the significance of combating corruption as a global challenge. Additionally, the conversations underscored the necessity for ongoing collaboration in the prevention and detection of cross-border corruption, as well as the critical role of interoperability in the fight against corruption and other adverse social issues.
