The impressive performance against Rapid in the opening match of the Champions League was no fluke; the true test came in Denmark.
Buducnost’s handball team fell short of pulling off a significant upset against Odense in the third round of the EHF elite tournament, ultimately losing 31:29 after a hard-fought battle that was complicated by unusual officiating.
“It was a commendable match for both sides, and I’m proud of what we demonstrated. I’m pleased with how my team fought until the final buzzer,” remarked Bojana Popović, the head coach of the Blues, following the match.
The challenging times filled with uncertainty regarding the club’s future are well known to the distinguished figure from Podgorica.
“We have faced tough times recently, but today the girls proved they can play quality handball and fight throughout the entire game. It makes me happy to see their determination, as they battled for this jersey for a full 60 minutes. We will continue to practice and strive to rebuild. Although we didn’t earn any points, we are very pleased with our performance,” Bojana added.
Klara Monti Danijelson, as always, played a pivotal role in defense.
“The last match was extremely challenging for us, but we showed the right mindset, aggressiveness, and energy today. We must maintain this momentum and carry this feeling into our upcoming matches,” Danijelson stated.
The Swedish player expressed disappointment over missing out on points, yet…
“We came very close, and it would have been great to secure a victory. We made some errors, but we kept our spirits high, which is very important for us,” Danijelson concluded.
