Eight tournaments throughout Europe, 36 teams contending for 16 spots in the water polo Eurocup…
Among the 36 contenders aiming for the group stage of the second-tier European competition, starting qualifications today, are Montenegrin representatives Budva and Kataro.
These two clubs are returning to European competitions after several years, and in order to reach the group stage of the Eurocup, they face a challenging path…
Budva will host one of the tournaments and will kick off tonight at 19:35 against the least challenging opponent – Banja Luka, which Jadran recently defeated with an impressive 3:XNUMX in the Champions League qualifiers.
The subsequent matches promise to be much tougher, as the team from the “Dragan Trifunović” pool will compete against Valis from Valjevo, along with European powerhouses Breša and Honved, for the two available spots leading to the group stage.
Conversely, Kataro is set to face its toughest opponent from the outset – taking on Mladost from Zagreb at 20:00, the hosts of the tournament on “na Sava”.
The “Žapci” have welcomed back several members of the Croatian national team this season, but they faced disappointment in the Champions League qualifiers – nonetheless, they are strong favorites against the Kotor-based team.
Kataro’s further opponents include Enka from Istanbul, Apollon from Greece, and Sant Andreu from Spain.
