Primorac Battled the Champions Until the Midpoint of the Final Quarter
Water polo players from Primorje faced a defeat against New Belgrade in their opening match of the Regional Water Polo League, finishing with a score of 14:12 (2:2, 6:3, 2:3, 4:4).
The team led by Vjekoslav Pasković started strong, securing a 2:0 advantage, but the reigning champions, Novi Beograd, quickly equalized.
During the second quarter, both teams exchanged goals, and with a score of 5:4, Novi Beograd took their first two-goal lead. By halftime, the home team extended their lead to three goals, ending the half at 8:5.
Primorac made an effort to comeback, winning the third quarter 3:2, and by the end of the final quarter, they trailed by just one goal at 10:9. However, Novi Beograd responded with two goals to seal the victory at 12:9.
The winning side was powered by Angelos Vlahopulos, who netted five goals. Miloš Ćuk added three, while Strahinja Krstić and Vasilije Martinović each contributed two goals. Nikola Lukić and Đuro Radović scored one goal apiece.
For the Kotoranapo team, Nika Šušiašvili and Marko Mršić were the standouts with three goals each. Savo Ćetković and Srđan Janović contributed two goals each, and Draško Brguljan and Dušan Matković added one each.
