Buducnost Triumphs in a Nail-Biter Against Albatros; Luka Bar, Herceg Novi, and Morača All Achieve Perfect Wins

The volleyball team from Herceg Novi has extended its winning streak, firmly securing its top position in the standings following a decisive 3:0 victory over Gimnazijalec (25:13, 25:19, 25:13). Both Herceg Novi and Luka Bar boast an impressive tally of 15 wins against a single loss; however, Herceg Novi leads the rankings due to a slight point advantage (46-45) over the “Sirens”.

Leading the charge for Herceg Novi were Ana Marija Galić with 14 points and Gordana Madžgalj contributing 11 points. On the other side, Matea Kovačec shone as the standout player for the losing side, scoring 13 points. Unfortunately for Gimnazijalec, this match marked their 11th defeat of the season.

Luka Bar showcased their confidence in their match against Jedinstvo, achieving a clean sweep with a 3:0 win (25:13, 25:20, 25:21). The standout performer for Luka Bar was Dijana Vuković, who scored 15 points, while Teodora Čavić added 10 points to the tally. Jedinstvo’s top player was Andrijana Merdović, who managed to score 9 points.

The much-anticipated derby in Podgorica saw Buducnost triumph over Albatros in a thrilling encounter, finishing 3:2. Buducnost currently ranks third with a 14-2 record, while Albatros holds the fourth position with eight wins and as many losses.

Klara Đukić delivered an impressive performance for Buducnost, contributing two aces in the fourth set that propelled the match into the decisive fifth set. Following her, another rising star, Elena Jovanović, also scored 13 points. The captain, Mileva Magdelinić, led the team in scoring with 17 points, while libero Ksenija Krunić stood out with crucial saves. On the Albatros side, Viktorija Položevets was the top scorer with 17 points, supported by Marija Tuševljak and Amina Music, who added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

In another mid-table clash, Morača defeated Budva 3:0 in Podgorica (25:15, 25:19, 25:20). This victory allowed Morača to close the gap, now trailing Budva by just one win. Anastasija Koprivica was the standout player for Morača with 17 points, while Viktorija Čoković led Budva with 12 points.

The round will conclude on Tuesday with an exciting derby between Galeb and Akademija scheduled for 5 PM at the “Topolica” Sports Center in Bar.
