Amid Many Candidates, Suzana Stands Out as the Ideal Choice

Following her inability to qualify for the Olympic Games, Bojana Popović stepped down, leading to the appointment of Suzana Lazović as her successor a few months later. Lazović, a former teammate during Montenegro and Budućnost’s golden era, takes on this significant role.

After a series of coaches including Nikola Petrović, Dragan Adžić, Per Johanson, Kim Rasmusen, and Bojana, the Handball Association of Montenegro has placed its trust in a promising young coach just starting her career.

Petar Kapisoda, the president of the RSCG, highlighted that among numerous candidates, the decision was made to appoint the former “lioness” pivot, reflecting confidence in her capabilities.

“It’s important to note that there were many candidates for the selector position, and after some deliberation, I narrowed it down to a few individuals with whom I engaged in serious discussions. Ultimately, I recommended Suzana to the Board of Directors, and I firmly believe this is the right move,” Kapisoda stated.

He underscored that the Supervisory Board unanimously supported his proposal and shared positive sentiments about the new selector.

“Suzana is a diligent and ambitious individual who, in my estimation, possesses the necessary skills for this role. I have every confidence that she will excel,” he remarked, drawing on his experience as a former member of the Montenegrin national team.

Kapisoda also conveyed gratitude to the previous selector.

“I would like to thank Bojana and her professional team for their collaboration and the relationship we built over the past three years, which culminated in our bronze medal achievement at the last European Championship,” concluded Kapisoda.
