The players of Bayer Leverkusen triumphed over Holstein Kiel with a scoreline of 2-0 in the 23rd matchday of the German Bundesliga.
The goals for Bayer were scored by Patrik Schick in the ninth minute and Amine Adli just before halftime in the 45th minute. Bayer currently sits in second place on the table with 50 points, trailing first-place Bayern Munich by five points, although they have a game in hand. Holstein Kiel remains in 18th place, at the bottom of the table, with 13 points.
Looking ahead, Bayer will welcome Eintracht Frankfurt for their next match, while Kiel will face Union Berlin at home.
In other fixtures, Mainz secured a 2-0 win against St. Pauli on their home ground, with Lee Jae-seon finding the net in the 67th minute and Paul Nebel scoring in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Mainz is currently positioned fifth with 38 points, whereas St. Pauli is in 14th with 21 points.
In additional matches, Wolfsburg played to a 1-1 draw with Bochum at Wolfsburg, and Augsburg achieved a commanding 3-0 victory away at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
