Primorac Secures First Victory in the Premier League
While it wasn’t the most impressive edition of Primorje, it is noteworthy for being their first victory in the regional Premier League this season.
In the “Dragan Trifunović” swimming pool located in Budva, the Kotor team overcame Primorje with a score of 12:11 in a match they controlled for most of the time, despite making several mistakes that the Montenegrin champions fortunately managed to escape without punishment.
The first four minutes suggested an easy win for Vjekoslav Pasković’s team, who jumped to an early 3:0 lead thanks to goals from Draško Brguljan, Savo Ćetković, and Niko Šušijašvili. However, the rest of the match turned into a closely contested face-off, with the visiting team also creating opportunities.
The legendary Igor Hinić’s squad faced a tense conclusion; they even had a final chance to equalize and secure a place in the top five, but it ended there—with Karlo Babić’s shot from a difficult angle being saved by the Italian goalkeeper Francesco Masaro.
Ultimately, quality proved to be the decisive factor. Primorac, particularly with its defensive play (Primorje managed to convert just four of their 13 extra-man chances), effectively withstood the assault from a team that had only recently surprised Radnički in Kragujevac during the first round.
Dušan Matković was the standout performer for the winning side, scoring three goals. Brguljan, Savo Ćetković, Marko Mršić, and Šušijašvili each tallied two goals, while Nikola Brkić contributed one goal to the team’s total.
