Novljani Struggled in Šabac
After securing a victory against Mladost, the Jadran Mtela water polo team struggled in their latest match, facing a defeat in Šabac and showing a lackluster performance through the first two rounds of the regional Premier League.
Under the guidance of Vladimir Gojković, the team narrowly lost 6:5, missing a crucial opportunity to equalize and claim five points.
In a vital moment, Vasilije Radović attempted to set up Aleksandar Ivović, but the ball slipped from his grasp, extinguishing the team’s last chance.
Jadran initially took the lead with scores of 2:0 and then 3:1, holding an advantage for only 20 seconds as Đorđe Lazić netted a goal to make it 4:3.
“The match was challenging, as we anticipated. We started strong, but in the latter half of the second quarter, we squandered the chance to extend our lead. During the third quarter, our attack struggled, especially when we had a numerical advantage. The opponent’s defense was exceptional, allowing us only five goals, which ultimately decided the match,” Gojković noted.
Scorers for Jadran in Šabac included Ivović, Jovan Vujović, Lazić, Vuk Milojević, and Matija Sladović.
Montenegrin international Andrija Korać scored twice for the team from Šabac.
