The Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation (MESI) along with the Royal Capital of Cetinje are dedicated to enhancing various aspects of the educational system through collaborative projects and initiatives.
This was confirmed during the visit of Minister Anđela Jakšić Stojanović and Mayor Nikola Đurašković to local educational institutions.
The ministry announced that the capital city is currently undergoing “the largest investment cycle” aimed at the renovation of school facilities.
It was reported that almost six million euros have been allocated over recent months for the reconstruction of three school buildings in the capital.
“The energy efficiency project is nearing completion for the Cetinje Public School and the ‘Lovćen Partizanski Odred’ Primary School buildings. Essential repairs to the roofs and facades have been completed, along with the installation of new electrical and plumbing systems, and upgraded heating systems. Additionally, the ‘Lovćen Partizanski Odred’ school received new windows. Extensive renovations were also undertaken within, including a full overhaul of bathrooms and flooring, and overall interior decoration for both schools. During this same timeframe, as part of a project focused on rehabilitating secondary vocational schools in Montenegro, which is supported by the EIB Bank, the Secondary Vocational School also underwent reconstruction, which included roof repairs, and renovations of bathrooms and the sports hall,” stated the report.
Minister Jakšić-Stojanović engaged in discussions with Mayor Đurašković during her visit to Cetinje.
“Quality and modern infrastructure play a crucial role in enhancing the educational system’s quality. Both Jakšić-Stojanović and Đurašković concur on the need for ongoing investments in educational facilities and resources to facilitate improved access to education and foster optimal conditions for youth development,” remarked the Ministry of Education and Research.
The Minister mentioned that this year will continue with the same momentum in Cetinje, assuring that the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation is dedicated to enhancing conditions in educational facilities through initiatives aimed at renovating school buildings, upgrading equipment and infrastructure, and providing adequate resources for students.
Mayor Đurašković highlighted the significance of sustained collaboration between the local government and the Ministry of Education and Science, asserting that the Royal Capital will remain focused on projects that will elevate the quality of education and improve daily conditions for both students and teaching staff.
Along with the renovated school buildings, the minister and the mayor also toured several other educational institutions, including the “Students’ Home,” “Petar Lubarda” High School of Fine Arts, and the “Zagorka Ivanović” kindergarten.
