Suspect Facing Up to 72-Hour Detention for Sending Threatening SMS Messages to Ex-Wife

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Berane has issued a detention order for JB, who is accused of sending threatening SMS messages to his former spouse, for a maximum period of 72 hours.

The announcement indicates that JB is being investigated for domestic violence or violence within a family context.

“On February 21, 2025, in Berane, the accused sent intimidating SMS messages to a family member, specifically his ex-wife, resulting in her feeling scared and threatened. It is important to note that this individual has prior offenses. The investigation into this matter is currently underway,” reads the statement from the Berane ODT.
