NB (27) from Podgorica tragically lost his life in a traffic accident that took place this morning on the Nikšić-Vilusi main road, close to the Salt Lake.

The incident, characterized by a head-on collision between two vehicles, occurred around ten o’clock.

In one of the vehicles, four children were present, and the Nikšić firefighters along with rescuers successfully extricated them from the car.

According to statements from the police to “Vijesti”, the deceased NB was driving a Honda passenger car and died at the scene, while the other vehicle, a van, was driven by SB (32) from Podgorica, who was injured and taken to the Nikšić General Hospital.

“Several injured individuals have been transported to the emergency room from the Renault van,” the police reported.

The traffic on this road has resumed after being halted while police, firefighters, medical teams, and the prosecutor conducted their investigations at the site.

The Operational Communications Center (OCC) of the Police Directorate reported that at 9:55 am, a traffic accident occurred on the Nikšić-Vilusi road in the town of Kuside, resulting in the death of NB (27).

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Nikšić confirmed that one person was killed and several others injured in today’s traffic accident on the main Nikšić-Trebinje road in Kuside, which involved a passenger vehicle and a van.

“The investigation at the scene was led by the on-duty prosecutor, accompanied by a traffic expert and police officers, with further actions to follow,” the statement indicated.
