The medal matches at the Final Four in Zagreb marked the conclusion of the MEVZA League season, but the tournament host at the “Bojan Stranić” Volleyball Center had a rather underwhelming performance.

The Mladost volleyball team, featuring national team player Simona Petranović, achieved a historic first by clinching the regional title. In contrast, players Đorđe Jovović and Nikola Đurović could not pull off another upset against the league favorites, ACH Volley from Ljubljana.

The women’s final was filled with anticipation, and Mladost triumphed over Slovenian team Kalcit Kamnik with a score of 3:2 (25:20, 10:25, 25:19, 22:25, 19:17), making it a historic win as it was their first MEVZA league title. This match served as a rematch following last year’s final loss, in which Simona participated during the initial two sets, contributing one point. In a thrilling final, Kalcit failed to seize the chance for their fifth title in the Central European Volleyball Zonal Association competition. Meanwhile, the bronze medal was secured in Zagreb, with Dinamo defeating Maribor 3:1.

In the men’s competition, ACH Volley reclaimed their dominance, securing their 13th cup after convincingly defeating Mladost 3:0 (27:25, 25:17, 25:22). The Zagreb team could not replicate their recent success from two weeks prior where they won 3:2 in the league section. In his first major final with the team, Đorđe Jovović was the second-highest scorer with eight points, while Nikola Đurović appeared in two sets, contributing one point. Maribor finished third by defeating the Austrian Zadruga 3:0.

Starting from the next season, Montenegrin volleyball clubs will also have eligibility to compete in the MEVZA league.
