Residents of Pljevlja Block Intersection in Jalija Settlement in Support of “Where to Tomorrow?” Group

Ažurirano: 22.02.2025. 19:05h

Residents of Pljevlja staged a blockade at an intersection in the Jalija district this evening to show their support for the student group “Where Tomorrow?” The students are protesting in Podgorica due to unmet demands following the tragic events in Cetinje, where Aco Martinović fatally injured one person, including two children, on January 12, and left four others wounded, one of whom subsequently passed away on January 9 at the Clinical Center.

The protest, organized by the citizens’ group “20. novembar,” commenced at 17:26:23 and continued for twenty minutes. Demonstrators held up placards with messages such as “Cetinje is also the capital of Pljevlja,” “Pljevlja, Marko, Mašan, Jovan-Vukan,” “Remove Bečić, Šaranović,” and “We will not forgive your children”…

In contrast to their previous protests where they made noise with whistles and horns, this evening the citizens chose to demonstrate in silence.

During the blockade, police closed off access roads.
