Primorac Faces Jadran in Šibenik, While Novljani Await Valis; Budućnost Set for Debut
This weekend, the water polo teams of Primorje and Jadran Mtel will compete in the regional Premier League, with a spotlight on Budućnost as they make their debut in the senior league.
Following a win and a loss in the initial two rounds, the Kotor team is set to battle Jadran from Split on Saturday at 19 p.m. in Šibenik.
“This match is crucial for us. We performed exceptionally well in Athens against Olympiakos, earning a point. We must maintain our physical endurance, especially after the European game. This will serve as a solid test to enhance our performance ahead of the Champions League continuation and our match against Savona,” stated Primorje’s center player, Nemanja Vico.
Meanwhile, the team from Novi will host Valis from Valjevo at 18 p.m. following their defeat in Marseille during the Champions League on Wednesday.
Under the guidance of Vladimir Gojković, the team has recorded one victory and one loss in the first two rounds of the Premier League.
“We are feeling a bit fatigued after two challenging matches in just four or five days, but I am confident the encounter with Valis will go our way without excessive exertion,” remarked Jadran’s left-handed striker, Uroš Vučurović.
Budućnost is also making its debut in the A1 league, with two matches scheduled in Belgrade.
They will face Vukov on Saturday and Zemun on Sunday, both starting at 19:45.
“This represents a fresh competition for us, providing new experiences for our younger players. Alongside the newcomers, we aim to achieve the best possible results,” expressed Podgorica’s coach, Aleksandar Aleksić.
Kataro is set to play against Vukov tonight at 21:15 and will face Zemun on Saturday, while Budva will visit Zadar on Saturday as well.
