The handball team of Budućnost is set to compete in the sixth round of the European Champions League tomorrow, facing off against the Norwegian Vipers in Kristiansand.
Currently, Budućnost is seeking their first victory this season after securing only one point thus far.
Meanwhile, the Vipers, who have been crowned European champions three times in the past four years, have one win, one draw, and three losses this season.
Assistant coach Maja Savić remarked that the Vipers boast an exceptional team with the world’s best goalkeeper pair, Silje Solberg and Katrin Lunde.
She pointed out that the lineup features players from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, in addition to individual players from Croatia, Spain, and the Czech Republic.
“Their qualities are well-known, and they were not at their best in the last two games—they will look to make amends. I am confident they will show better focus and determination to win,” Savić stated.
She also mentioned that the Montenegrin champions aim to improve their performance compared to their previous match.
“Our goal is to deliver an exceptional game. The journey will be challenging again, but circumstances beyond our control cannot be changed. We are looking to play much better—more focused and cohesive—and I expect an improved performance,” Savić added.
Buducnost will be without Armel Atingra, who remained in Podgorica due to a fever. Marija Marsenić, the goalkeeper from Budućnost’s B team, will take her place in goal.
The match is scheduled to commence at 18:00.
