The Capital Will Back Budućnost: A Symbol of Podgorica’s Sporting Identity
Today, a meeting took place at the FK Budućnost facilities, gathering representatives from the Capital City along with the club’s management. This session aimed to enhance the operations of Podgorica’s most decorated football team.
Attendees included Deputy Mayor Nađa Ljiljanić, Secretary for Sports Darko Nikčević, and the Secretary for Finance, who engaged in discussions with FK Budućnost’s Executive Director Novak Novaković and his team. The focus was on critical matters concerning the club’s future development, especially regarding the Capital City’s support in infrastructure, financial stability, and the advancement of the youth academy.
“Our visit to the Football Club Budućnost was intended to gain insights into its operations, current challenges, and avenues for enhancing sports performance through direct dialogue with the management. I believe this visit marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between relevant institutions and FK Budućnost,” stated Secretary for Sports Nikčević. He further added:
“Numerous topics were discussed during our conversation, notably the present condition of sports facilities and fields, and the potential for infrastructure improvements with the help of competent authorities. It is particularly encouraging to see the club’s management committed to developing the youth academy effectively and recognizing the significance of investing in young talent to bolster the club’s roster,” Nikčević concluded.
Capital City representatives reiterated that Budućnost embodies Podgorica’s sporting identity and affirmed their commitment to continued support for the club to ensure enhanced working conditions and sustained success. The objective is for Budućnost, with stable institutional backing and community support, to persist in achieving success and solidifying its position as a frontrunner in Montenegrin football.
