SC Derbi Makes a Stylish Comeback to Victory

After a long wait, the SC Derby basketball team achieved their first away victory of the season, overpowering Spartak in the 16th round and breaking a streak of seven consecutive losses in the AdmiralBet ABA League.

The “students” displayed their dominance at Dudova šuma, winning 89:79. Unlike in previous matches, this time they effectively capitalized on their periods of strong play, marking their return to winning form.

By the end of the first quarter, Derby had established a 12-point lead, and by halftime, their advantage had grown to 18 points, reflecting their strong performance throughout the first half.

However, in a quick turn of events, the team allowed Spartak a 13:0 run in less than three minutes, briefly falling behind at 28:27. Fortunately, they quickly regrouped, heading into halftime with a significant advantage of 54:36. From that point on, they maintained control of the game…

At the beginning of the third quarter, Derby increased their lead to 25 points and then to 28, making it clear that a fifth victory was within reach. This win marked their first away from “Morača” and their first overall since defeating Mornar on November 22 in the local Montenegrin derby.

Luka Bogavac shone for the winning side with 19 points, while David Mirković contributed 15 points along with nine rebounds, and Erik Nil added 14 points and nine assists. On the opposing side, former Montenegrin representative Danilo Nikolić was Spartak’s standout player, scoring 14 points.
