AV Beranac (49) has been sentenced to 15 days in prison for refusing to take a breathalyzer test as ordered by a police patrol in Budva last night.
The sentence was handed down by Marko Đukanović, the President of the Budva Minor Offences Court, who interrogated Beranac this morning after his arrest by the Budva police.
According to information obtained by “Vijesti,” Beranac was driving a Ford when he was stopped by the police on Kanjoša Macedonovića Street near the roundabout at the entrance to Budva, about an hour and a half after midnight.
Despite the police officer’s insistence for Beranac to undergo a breathalyzer test, he refused, leading to his subsequent arrest and transport to the police station.
In accordance with Article 317, paragraph 4 of the Law on Road Traffic Safety, Beranac has also been banned from operating a category “B” motor vehicle for four months.
