The Budućnost Voli basketball team proved their favorite status in the 16th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League by defeating Mornar at “Morača” with a score of 110:79.

The outcome of the match was determined within the first 10 minutes, as the “blues” led by 24 points (33:9), securing their 14th victory in the regional league.

“My main focus after our loss in Istanbul was to see the right approach in our play. I believe that was achieved, and that’s what matters most to me. When we maintain our focus and commitment, we perform well on the court. The first half was solid. I expect ‘Mornar’ to improve based on their previous games. I wish them the best for their upcoming matches, but now we need to concentrate on our game against Hapoel,” stated Budućnost coach Andrej Žakelj post-match.

After just 10 minutes, the match was effectively decided.

“Had we faced difficulties at the start, I think we would have struggled throughout the game. Fortunately, we started strong, which made everything easier. I aimed to rest some players, and that strategy worked well as everyone had an opportunity to play. Our recent performances have been good, and the atmosphere is positive in the locker room. With our current approach and mindset, we are tough to compete against. While we have had some unfortunate losses, we must keep our heads high and move confidently into the next game,” Žakelj commented.
