Spajić Extends Congratulations to Merco

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić extended his congratulations to Friedrich Merck on his electoral victory in Germany.

“I firmly believe that once the new Federal Government is established, Montenegro and Germany will continue to enhance their strong bilateral relations through collaboration within the European Union framework. We anticipate fruitful cooperation in areas of shared interest, particularly in strengthening economic ties between our nations,” Spajić shared on the X platform.

The conservative CDU/CSU parties garnered between 28.5% and 29% according to exit polls from ARD and ZDF, while the AfD achieved between 19.5% and 20%, marking an unprecedented success for a far-right party in a federal election since the post-war era.

The Social Democratic Party received between 16% and 16.5%, a decline from their 25.7% in 2021. The Greens experienced a slight drop with their support ranging from 12% to 13.5%.

Merk will need to seek one or two partners to establish a coalition.
