The Montenegrin Parliament has wrapped up its discussions regarding amendments to the Law on Property Relations, and will soon share their opinions on this legislation, which will ensure that citizens of the European Union (EU) are granted the same property rights as the local populace upon Montenegro’s accession to the union.
Slaven Radunović, the Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, emphasized that this is a straightforward amendment to the law, stating that a public debate is unnecessary, as it addresses a technical matter.
“Individuals and entities from the EU will have property rights on equal terms with domestic individuals,” Radunović affirmed.
Duško Stijepović, an MP from the Democratic Party, remarked that although the decision is significant, it also contributes to Montenegro’s seamless integration into the EU. He noted that in the past year and a half, their achievements on the European path have been remarkable.
Boris Pejović, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, highlighted that the debate has concluded and that MPs would resume their duties on Monday.
