The Jadran m:tela water polo team was unable to create an upset against the formidable Barcelona, suffering a 16:8 defeat in Trebinje in their quest for a first Champions League victory.
Barceloneta led 6:4 at halftime, and Vasilije Radović ignited a counterattack at the start of the second half. With a brilliant feint that left goalkeeper Unaj Aguirre bewildered, he closed the gap to 6:5.
However, this proved to be Jadran’s final surge, as the Catalan side surged ahead to a commanding 10:5 lead by the end of the quarter, all but sealing the outcome in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Both Vasilije and Danilo Radović contributed two goals each for Jadran, while Dimitrije Obradovic, Jovan Vujovic, Danilo Stupar, and Aleksandar Ivovic each netted once for Barceloneta.
