Marković to Face Kazakh Opponent on Tuesday
The esteemed international youth tournament “Adriatic Pearl,” recognized as a World Cup for the past three years, officially commenced today at the “Splendid” hotel in Bećići.
The competition kicked off right after the opening ceremony, featuring a total of 220 participants competing over seven days—156 in the men’s division and 64 in the women’s division, representing 21 countries across four continents.
This event stands as the most prestigious World Cup globally for athletes aged 17-18, making it the top-tier competition following the World Championship.
Unfortunately for the sole Montenegrin competitor, Danilo Marković, the draw wasn’t in his favor.
Representing “Power Boxing,” he is set to face Kazakh athlete Mukhit Nurkabiluli in the 63.5-kilogram category on Tuesday.
The victor of this matchup will go on to meet Croatian fighter Matej Marton, who received a bye in the opening round, during the quarterfinals on Thursday.
