Montenegrin karateka Nemanja Mikulić successfully defended his title as Balkan champion, while heavyweight Nemanja Jovović secured the first gold medal for another triumphant day at the championship in Budva.

Mikulić brought the momentum from his Premier League final in Paris to the tatami in Budva, celebrating victory in the up to 75 kilogram category.

Nemanja Jovović (+84 kg) showcased outstanding performances and earned his first senior gold medal.

The trophy-winning Nikšić athlete Nikola Malović (-84 kg) also reached the final, but the reigning European champion Kvesić emerged victorious in a thrilling match, clinching the win with a penalty just five seconds before the end.

Malović secured the silver medal, while the highly decorated Nenad Dulović took home bronze after returning to compete post-injury, which kept him from the competition in Paris.

In the veterans category, Igor Dijanić achieved gold.

Yesterday, our karatekas amassed six medals, including two gold.

On the final day of the championship tomorrow, teams will compete in kata and team battles on the tatami.
