Euroleague Issues Financial Penalty to Monaco for Regulation Breaches
Today, Basketball club Monaco received a fine from the EuroLeague for breaching the financial regulations set by the competition.
The Euroleague’s Management Control Commission, an independent body responsible for evaluating the financial practices of clubs and ensuring their adherence to relevant rules, has concluded its review of Monaco. According to the competition’s official website, the commission has reached a settlement agreement with the club, which was found guilty of infringing on two specific provisions of the Euroleague Financial Stability and Fair Play Regulations.
Monaco did not supply the Euroleague with all necessary financial documents required to verify the club’s compliance with the regulations. Additionally, the club from the Principality breached the conditions related to shareholder relationships.
The Euroleague has not disclosed the amount of the fine.
