Suspect in custody for beating wife and sending her threatening messages

Man Arrested for Assaulting Wife and Sending Threatening Messages

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Podgorica has ordered the detention of an individual identified as VV for a period of up to 72 hours on allegations of committing the serious offense of domestic violence.

According to a statement from the Podgorica Public Prosecutor’s Office, VV is suspected of inflicting minor injuries on his wife on February 12th within their family residence.

“He assaulted her multiple times using both open and closed fists, resulting in injuries, and additionally sent her threatening and abusive messages, including threats to kill and mutilate her, which instilled a fear for her safety as she has been enduring violence for a significant period,” stated the Podgorica Public Prosecutor’s Office.
