The trilogy continues—this October, Artur Beterbiyev secured the inaugural four-belt title as the absolute light heavyweight champion, while the previous week, Dmitry Bivol avenged his loss by capturing the titles in the WBC, IBF, WBA, and WBO categories.
Both athletes hold a single defeat in their records, each coming from bouts against one another. Despite IBA President Umar Kremlyov expressing his desire for a third fight to take place in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium, TASS has reported otherwise.
The highly anticipated third encounter between these two exceptional boxers is set to occur in Riyadh before the year’s end, as confirmed by sources from the champion’s headquarters in Buffalo.
“A third fight is scheduled for later this year in Riyadh,” stated a representative from the agency.
Bivol, aged 34, has a record of 24 wins (12 by knockout) and one loss to Beterbiev in October. Beterbiev, who is six years his senior, boasts 21 victories (20 by knockout) and just one defeat. Notably, he has not managed to knock Bivol down in any of their 24 rounds of competition.
