Primorac Set to Face Catalans, Jadran Heads to Hungary
Water polo athletes from Primorje and Jadran Mtela will resume their Champions League competition on Wednesday.
On paper, our team appears to have a less challenging matchup – Sabadelj will visit Kotor (20:00), a Catalan squad featuring Montenegrin national teammate Konstantin Averka, which has had a lackluster start to the season with their initial performances.
Vjekoslav Pasković’s team secured a win against Ug in the regional Premier League over the weekend, breaking a four-match losing streak across all tournaments…
“I’m hopeful that we will perform better than we did against Savona and that we can achieve our first victory of the season in the Champions League,” stated Primorje’s center, Savo Ćetković.
In their previous encounters in the European elite, Kotoran faced defeats against Olympiakos (losing by five in Piraeus) and at home to Savona, where they fell 18:12.
Meanwhile, Jadran will head to Hungary on Vašaš Day, aiming to recover from two losses in their first rounds against Marseille in France (13:11) and Barceloneta in Trebinje (16:8).
“We have a strong drive to secure our first points, which is crucial for our chances of advancing in the group. So far, we haven’t showcased our true potential, and I believe this is the right moment to do so,” remarked Novljan defender Dimitrije Obradović.
Our representative, Bogdan Đurđić, will be competing in Vaša, with tomorrow’s match scheduled to start at 18:15.
