The water polo teams of Primorje and Jadran Mtela are set to compete in the Champions League tonight. On paper, our champion appears to have a simpler task ahead – Sabadelj is visiting Kotor (20:XNUMX), a Catalan squad led by Montenegrin representative Konstantin Averka, which has had a mixed start in the first two rounds.
Coach Vjekoslav Pasković hopes to build on the weekend’s success in the regional Premier League, where they broke a four-match losing streak across all competitions.
“I believe we can improve on our performance against Savona and secure our first victory this season in the Champions League,” stated center Savo Ćetković.
In the Champions League so far, Kotoran has faced setbacks against Olympiakos (losing by five in Piraeus) and at home against Savona, who triumphed 18:12.
Meanwhile, Jadran travels to Hungary for a match against Vašaš (18:15), after suffering defeats in the initial rounds against Marseille in France (11:16) and Barceloneta in Trebinje (8:XNUMX). Our representative, Bogdan Đurđić, will be competing in Vašaš.
“We have several reasons to strive for our first points, which are crucial for our chances of advancing. Up till now, we haven’t showcased our true potential, but I hope the time has finally come to do so,” remarked defender Dimitrije Obradović.
