Fenerbahçe’s Distant Strike Breaks Red Star’s Impressive Euroleague Streak

After four wins in a row, Red Star faced its first defeat in the Euroleague against Fenerbahce, who emerged victorious with a score of 96:91 at the “Arena”.

Missing their star player Nemanja Nedović due to injury, the Istanbul team took control of the game, and Šarunas Jasikevičius’s squad excelled in three-point shooting.

Nicolo Melli contributed 16 points, netting five three-pointers from eight attempts. Nigel Hayes was the standout player, recording 27 points from 12 shots beyond the arc (7-4).

Tarik Biberović also played a significant role, scoring nine of his 16 points from three-point range out of five attempts.

The most prolific scorer for Red Star was Cody Miller McIntyre, who tallied 23 points.

Currently, Red Star sits in eighth place with 13 wins out of 21 games, while Fenerbahce has a record of 13 wins and 7 losses.

Žalgiris fought hard to defeat Virtus Bologna 77:68 (25:13, 16:19, 20:19, 16:17) at home in Kaunas tonight, breaking a four-game losing streak.

The Lithuanian side was powered by Silvan Fransiskos with 20 points and four rebounds, alongside Edgaras Ulanovas, who added 16 points and four rebounds.

Arnas Butkevičius supported the efforts with 11 points and five rebounds, Dovidas Gedraitis contributed 10 points, and Serbian player Alan Smailagić chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.

For Virtus, Aizea Kordinija led with 18 points, along with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Tornike Shengelija added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Matthew Morgan finished with eight points and six rebounds.

Žalgiris now holds the 11th position in the standings with 11 wins and 10 losses, while Duško Ivanovic’s team languishes in 16th with six wins and 15 losses. In their next game, Žalgiris will face Fenerbahce in Istanbul on Friday, while Virtus will travel to Munich to play Bayern.

Barcelona’s players overcame Panathinaikos with a score of 82:73 (18:21, 12:17, 29:12, 23:23) at home tonight.

The standout performer for Barcelona was Jabari Parker, who scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds, supported by Dario Brizuela with 15 points and Alex Abrines with 12 points.

For the visitors from Athens, Jerian Grant was their top scorer with 18 points, and Cedi Osman added 14 points. Juancho Hernangomez contributed 12 points along with 10 rebounds, while Omer Jurceven scored 11 points.

Barcelona is currently eighth with a record of 12 wins and 9 losses, while Panathinaikos is in fourth with 13 wins and 8 losses.

In their next matches, Barcelona will host Efes, and Panathinaikos will face Baskonia away.

Bayern edged out Monaco 95:94 (30:13, 23:27, 25:28, 17:26) on their home floor in Munich.

The key players for Bayern included Carsen Edwards with 25 points, and both Devin Booker and Nick Weiler-Babb each scored 18 points, along with Shabazz Napier contributing 14 points.

Monaco’s top performers were Mike James with 18 points, followed by Jordan Lloyd with 16, Matthew Strassell with 14, Eli Okobo with 12, and Mam Zaite with 10 points.

Bayern currently holds the 10th spot with 12 wins and 9 losses, while Monaco sits in third place with 13 wins and 8 losses.

In the next round, Bayern will host Virtus, while Monaco will travel to play against Red Star.
