Additionally, supporters of the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists protested in Cetinje, where they responded to the Coalition Member of Montenegro with cannon blasts and firecrackers. In retaliation, ZBCG deputies raised three fingers as a gesture.
Among the attacked ZBCG MPs were Jovan Jole Vučurović, Milun Zogović, Vladislav Bojović, and Jelena Božović.
The protesters in Cetinje were mobilized in response to President of the Parliament Andrija Mandic’s presence, having entered the Assembly building approximately 10 hours prior, as reported by RTV Cetinje.
Protestors chanted “Mandic Fascisto,” insulted him with “Mother Chetnik,” and labeled him a traitor, declaring he did not belong in Cetinje.
According to victory, there was a significant police presence in Cetinje, and in front of the building housing the Parliament session, a “Living Wall” was established.
Protesters displayed banners with messages such as: “Our fire does not combine”; “Dalai Lama from the crystal”; “We will not go to the Putin’s LAME at the head of the state”; “Montenegro is for the EU”; “All worse than worse”.
President of the Montenegrin Parliament Andrija Mandic opened the first spring session today in Cetinje, emphasizing the importance of the task at hand and how both Cetinje and Montenegro deserve respect.
Supporters of the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists, who see Cetinje as their stronghold, organized protests against the arrival of President Andrija Mandic, whom they label as fascist.
– You are privileged because your ancestors founded Montenegro, and today all of CG gathers around this great city. Those not from Cetinje recognized the spark of freedom and chose to build the state of Montenegro alongside you. Looking at the number of protesters around the Assembly, I doubt this represents the will of the majority of Cetinje citizens, “Mandic stated.
He emphasized respect for diverse opinions and acknowledged the majority will expressed in elections, urging those who divide Montenegro to refrain from doing so.
– We must unite around our goals, specifically to ensure Montenegro’s integration into the European Union and to uphold peace and stability, Mandic concluded.
