A detention order has been issued by the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica for MV, who is suspected of jeopardizing the safety of his wife and of committing domestic violence against her, for a duration of up to 72 hours.

He faces accusations of threatening his wife JV by making several video calls via the Viber app and sending alarming messages, including: “Montenegro will be small, there is no life for you here if you don’t give me the children, I will enter the apartment, I will destroy everything, and I will physically harm you.”

The Podgorica Public Prosecutor’s Office noted that these actions instilled fear in her and left her feeling threatened regarding her personal safety.
