Miloš Krstović, leader of the councilors’ club from the ruling Movement for Podgorica, has declared that free public transportation will be made available for pensioners in the capital city.
“This initiative is designed to offer our senior citizens easier and safer access to all areas of the city,” he stated.
Representing the Movement for Podgorica, Krstović mentioned that he has put forth an amendment to the proposal for this year’s Work Program of the Capital City Assembly, which aims to implement free transportation for all pensioners by the second quarter of this year.
“This initiative is not born out of a populist political agenda, but reflects responsible city governance. I appreciate the Administration for acknowledging the needs of our elder citizens. It is disheartening that the DPS only remembers its citizens after losing power, after 30 years in authority, during which they kept them on the edge of survival and exploited every opportunity to take from them,” his statement emphasized.
Krstović indicated that this measure aims to alleviate the financial burden on pensioners and “empower them to be more active.”
“With the introduction of free transportation, our pensioners will no longer face limitations in their mobility due to high travel costs. My aspiration is for all citizens, regardless of their age, to be treated equally and to feel safe and respected throughout Podgorica,” Krstović concluded.
