According to the tourist night statistics for 2024, the largest proportion of overnight stays came from tourists from Serbia (23.5 percent), followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina (8.4 percent), Turkey (4.7 percent), Ukraine (4.3 percent), and the United Kingdom (3.8 percent). Tourists from other countries accounted for 32.1 percent of overnight stays.

“When analyzing overnight stays by types of tourist destinations in 2024, coastal locations recorded the most significant share at 93.8%. The capital city followed at 2.6%, with other areas at 1.5%,” MONSTAT reported.

MONSTAT elaborates that their data on tourist arrivals and overnight stays encompass total tourism activity, covering both collective and private accommodations.

In individual accommodations during 2024, there were 1,156,859 tourist arrivals, generating 10,393,405 overnight stays. Of these, 99.6 percent were by foreign tourists and 0.4 percent by domestic travelers.

In collective accommodations, such as hotels, resorts, bed and breakfasts, motels, tourist facilities, and hostels, 34,770 arrivals and 73,867 overnight stays were recorded.

Among the overnight stays in collective accommodations, foreign tourists comprised 74.8 percent, while domestic tourists accounted for 25.2 percent.
