Montenegrin Young Volleyball Players Demonstrate Promise at the Winter Cup of Nations
The Montenegro U16 women’s volleyball team concluded its campaign in the “Winter Cup of Nations” held in Pordenone with a loss to Germany. Our young athletes secured two victories but faced three defeats, triumphing over the Italian team PSG FB Tanks and the Slovenian squad, while falling to the national teams of the Czech Republic, Japan, and Germany.
In their final match, which determined fifth place, Germany emerged victorious with a score of 3:1 (25:14, 19:25, 25:22, 25:14). Under the leadership of coach Petar Koković, the team struggled with fatigue after playing four matches in two days, making the last day of the tournament particularly challenging. They fought hard against the Germans, notably winning the second set 25:19. Although they were on the verge of clinching the third set, the German team rallied to secure it 25:22. The fourth set saw Germany take control, ultimately wrapping up the match with a final score of 3:1.
Coach Petar Koković expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance against such formidable opponents.
